Fuel Tanks 125 to 250
« on: May 05, 2010, 06:25:52 AM »
Has anyone tried to replace there 1kt tank with a similar years 125. They look nearly identical although the fuel taps are different but I think they can be swapped. Any help would be appreciated as I have a 1kt im slowly rebuiding but the tank is rotten and there always seems to be cheap 125 tanks around.

Hi,

A friend had put a TZR50 tank on his 2MA track bike (mounting needs to be modified).

TZR50 metal tank not the plastic ones...

Looks like a couple of fuel tanks for TZR50's are on ebay at the moment (one of which is plastic).

Does anyone know what level of modification it would take to get one of this to fit onto a 2MA?

Hi,

You'll have to adapt the front and rear mounting system.
Front quite easy : same system as the TZR250 but a little narrow (cut and re-weld the stock)
Rear easy make a bracket to hold the rear.

Plastic tanks are BIG (tested on a TZR250 frame).

Hi,

The front tank bracket has been modified and for the rear mounting of the tank a custom bracket has to be made to reach the original 2MA mounting point.

The rear frame (seat) has been shortened.
