Thanks

Got the kits today, good stuff!! Everything you can unscrew of the carbs except floats is there!
Very satisfied.

Have you checked that the parts are actually compatible and in the right sizes etc? The 3XV kits don't seem to be completely accurate. See this thread: http://tzr250.com/forums/index.php/topic,76.30.html

Let us know if you compared your actual 28mm carb bits to the bits in the kit. I have a kit and have ID'ed the parts, but not matched them up to my carbs. One thing I know for sure is that the bowl gasket is incorrect.

RZ350 has the 3MA kits. They are (or certainly should be) very different to the 3XV kits - but there should be several different 3MA kits too to reflect the different jets in the different models - as with the 3XV. To clarify, 3MA carbs are either 30, 32 or 34mm types depending on model - and the internals differ between them too of course. It would be really useful to work out how compatible these kits are as they could be a potentially useful source of parts if they are good quality copies - and/or if we can point the manufacturer/distributor in the right direction with them if not...

Any chance of a pic and full description of what size jets and needles came in the 3MA kit, RZ?

The kit is actually amazing, I have just opened it to make the pic:
thats what each has:
1) 4 main jets: 180-200-210-270
2) 2 pilots-15-25
3) 2 Needle valves- 673#P-6, 673#P4
4) Needle (hard to read) looks like #5#117
5) the part where main jet goes (forgot the name)  ;D
6) Lots of gaskets
7) Fuel filter
8) Petrol valve+
Warwickb, what is the original setup?
Here is the pic:

It looks to as it should fit ALL the 3MAs carbs.
Hence, lots of different gaskets.

Is the one float needle broken (little wire should be attached, no?)

Well... I can't be certain without closer inspection, but It looks like you have a 3XV and a 3MA float bowl gasket (3MA one on the left and a 3XV one on the right). Last piece on the top row is a 3MA carb top cover gasket so that may be useful if you need one?

Next row you have what looks like a 28mm 3XV carb top cover gasket, not sure what the next gasket along is? A little fuel stub filter, 2 3XV needle jets by the look of it (the 673 series ones - though I don't think any of the 3XV 28mm carb models use a P4 size?). One 3MA emulsion tube (but not a 3MA needle jet - it sits on top of the emulson tube and is the bit that wears really, not the emulsion tube. It's a small 610 series type for reference). Then you've got the mains and the pilots (those are stock Mikuni carb types and are not model specific). The Needle looks like it might be a 3XV 5FN117 one (not suitable for a 3MA I'm afraid). A couple of air screw springs, One needle valve (the wire just clips on, sfo), a couple of air screw O rings, and one air screw.

Is the above supposed to be a kit to rebuild both carbs or just one? There are some useful bits there probably (assuming they are accurate copies), but really the needle and the needle jet are generally the most important parts when rebuilding carbs  - especially 3MA ones because they are the parts that wear most and those parts are not included. Personally I'd be sending them back to the seller, asking for a refund and telling him to check the specs before marketing his kits...

Wrote a seller though, to see what he says. I need needles at least...I think I bent one a little when taking the carbs apart) the bike runs fine...but is it bad?
