I think it's a good thing, ultimately GP racing has always been about furthering the development of the machine with the veiw of transfering the technolodgies developed on the track to the road.
A lot of people think comparing the days of the 500's to todays bikes make the modern GP boring. Once again my opinion is they are two separate bikes, the 500's using really out dated technology by todays standards. The 500's had massive high sides and were considered by many to be dangerous, most believe it was because of the savage power delivery, but the reality was it had more to do with the tyres. Consider putting some 500GP slicks on your 2010 road gsxr 1000 or R1...............my guess is you wouldn't stay upright too long either.
Is the new technolodgy making riders soft? Maybe, but it's a different sport to what it used to be. The only people that can honestly answer that question are older riders that still ride, you know the ones at the back of the WSBK grid
