BUMP: our new Media section is getting no use?
« on: August 22, 2010, 12:50:36 PM »
Just bumping the media section some of you may have seen already but are not using?

I made this a part of the forum so members didn't have to host their pictures on an external server ie: flicker, photobucket etc.

This is a great feature that has all the same aspects as the free picture hosts and can be configured by each member to be have private albums and public albums, you also have the ability to allow individual members to veiw individual pictures as you see fit.

Another positive of using this feature is the photo's and videos will never be deleted unlike pictures that are posted as attachments which have a maintenance life of 6mths (for technical reasons).

Give it a go so I know it works  :blank:  ;)

OK, the basic instructions for starting your own Album as follows -

1. Click the "Media" button in the main menu across the top of the forum
2. Click "My Albums" on the upper right hand side of the page.
3. Click the "New Album" tab on the left hand side near the top of the page.
4. A series of dialog boxes will open, fill them in as you wish.
5. Click "Submit" at the bottom right corner of the page.
6. The album will now have been created.

Adding pictures and videos.
1.Click "Add an item to this Album" or you can choose "Mass Upload" if you have more than one picture you wish to up load.
2. A new series of dialog boxes will appear, fill them out as you wish.
3. Add a picture from your computer then click the "Submit" button at the bottom right hand side of the page.

Thats it ! You should have just uploaded one or more pictures. 8)

I don't have the buttens: Add an item to this Album" or you can choose "Mass Upload"

I only have: My album tzr250
and the buttens: Edit and mark as seen.

on top: home, unseen, search, my albums

Sorry for that.

It's all fixed now.

Junior Members can open an album too but their pic's will need to be approved before being open to public.
Senior members will be able to use all features!

Hey Ash,

Can you post the instructions for use be posted somewhere we can find them later? I will want to post pics of my winter rework of my first TZR so will want the instructions then. Can an FAQ section be created under articles or somewhere that has info about the site, for example? Any way you see fit would be great, but I think it would be helpful to have the instructions always available on the site itself.

I post my pics to mytzr.com of my rides because I can post more text and that's where my old friends look for my stuff now, and they're not terribly TZR relevant, as they mostly detail the little day rides I do around Wisconsin's cow-poo-smelly countryside. I wonder.... does the British countryside smell of cattle's business like Wisconsin does? Isn't that is some old song "And we will build Jerusalem, In England's green and cow smelly lands."

Don't worry, I wont post more off these pictures (it has nothing to do with tzr250)

Only this picture is taken 1.5 hour later in frond of my House.

Hope it will stop raining, don't want to use sand bags in front off my door ;D
