Hi.  I'm Tim.  You'll probably recognise my username from other forums, mainly the two-stroke ones.

I've had various Yam strokers over the years, I was looking to buy another 350LC early 2006 but got distracted by a 3MA-4 for sale near me instead.  Having bought it, I registered on Neil's old TZR Forum and picked up lots of invaluable info from people on there, so I'm pleased that Ash has now picked up the baton.  Hopefully I'll be able to help other owners myself, although the more I find out about the old Reverse Cylinders, the less I understand...  ::)

Hi,

I'm Rob, and I live in near Southampton UK.
I've got a 2MA currently together and running, and currently have a frame on my dining room table which is the start of my second self-taught, self assembly, steep learning curve, 1KT.

Hello again all. Wullie 3XV9, from Fife in Scotland, back with you again on this new site, ( thanks to Mr Essarjayauto ).  :D
Bought my 1993 3XV9 RS from Fastline Superbikes in Preston, U.K. in June last year.
My bike is currently in bits having a major engine & chassis overhaul, ( due to finding L/H big-end bearing & big-end pin
on the crank goosed !! ), while my crank is at Service Exchange Parts, in Kegworth, U.K., being rebuilt, ( eventually !! ).
I've modded the speed restrictor sensor tab so she'll go past 180 Kmh & opened up the standard R /RS L/H airbox air intake.
The barrels & heads have been ported & skimmed respectively by Martin 77 to his stage 2 type road tune, so I'm looking
forward to getting her back together, ( as & when I get my crank back from S.E.P. eventually ), to see how she goes.

Here's the link to my Photobucket album of my bikes overhaul for anyone interested to see the guts of a 3XV engine, etc.
http://s341.photobucket.com/albums/o393/wulliemckie/

and here's a photo of 'er when she was in one piece.

Hi I'm Darren. I've got a 250 2MA ex race bike that I've been trying to get back on the road. It's nearly ready now. Just need a topyoke (with ignition mounts) and I'm waiting on my YPVS unit being repaired. I sent it away to a place in Manchester that was recommended on the old forum, but now I can't remember the name of the company or phone number!! Anyone remember?

Hi All, I'm Nunzio from Toronto, wasn't a member of the old board for too long but found it extremely useful and am happier than a pig in s**t that us tzr owners have a forum again! Thanks Ash! I own a 89 tzr 3ma, a parts bike (hopefully a project some day) and an aprilia rs 250. I am currently rebuilding my spare motor as my running engine is quite tired. Thanks for all your help guys.
Oh ya, got my first speeding ticket of the year on Saturday :(
Regards,
Nunzio

Not sure if I introduced myself on the old forum but I'll pop a little message in here.

I'm Mark, I'm 17 and a full time student. Some of you may recognise the username and avatar from BCF or the Yamaha FS1e forum.

I worked at a motorcycle garage for 6 months so I'm not a complete novice when it comes to working on bikes. I passed my bike test last September and am yet to ride anything above a 125cc.

I've got a 1988 2MA with 6,000 genuine miles on the clock, picked it up for £175 off a friend's dad.

At the moment I am in the process of getting it back on the road but progress has been slow because my other bike has been out of action for over 4 months.

I've only got 1 picture of the bike in 1 piece which is from the day I bought it.

I'm hoping that it will be complete within the next week.

Excellent work, Mark! That's a very good deal I'd say. You have good friend's dads! Nice to see a young 'un into his strokers too. It's usually just us old farts reliving our smokey glory days of the 70s, 80s and early 90s.  Bike looks like it's a good 'un. I always lusted after a Gauloises 2MA when I had a 250LC (couldn't afford an 'exotic' TZR at the time - ah, 1987... I was 17 and you could pick up a 250LC pretty cheaply. Happy days...)

Er, anyway... Welcome aboard. You planning on keeping it stock, or hotting it up a bit? Might be worth seeing if Martin77 will do you a 'student discount' on porting if you are?

FS1e too, eh? Quality chioice, sir! What you studying, BTW (I'm a college lecturer)

I love my 2 strokes  8)

I don't actually have an FS1e, I'm just on the forum. I will get one eventually though.

Only modification I really want to do is fit some expansion chambers but it's not that important. The airbox doesn't have the trumpet if you can call that a modification, so I need to re-jet the carbs to compensate for that.

I'm studying psychology, ICT and business at A level. I studied sociology at AS level but dropped it. Sociology and psychology were picked because I didn't know what else to do. I wish I had done politics and law now.

I did a little work on it today. Cleaned the pistons and seals in the rear caliper and also straightened out the headlight cradle as it was bent. It's getting that little bit closer to being roadworthy again  :D
